This new regulation introduces several significant changes to enhance food safety standards across the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-key-changes\">Key Changes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-deletion-of-references-to-regulation-ec-401-2006\">Deletion of References to Regulation (EC) 401\/2006<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The reference to&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/data.europa.eu\/eli\/reg\/2006\/401\/oj\">Regulation (EC) 401\/2006<\/a>&nbsp;concerning the sampling and analysis of tropane alkaloids and ergot sclerotia has been removed. This change follows the publication of precise rules in Implementing&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/data.europa.eu\/eli\/reg_impl\/2023\/2782\/oj\">Regulations (EU) 2023\/2782<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/data.europa.eu\/eli\/reg_impl\/2023\/2783\/oj\">2783<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-adjustments-for-t-2-and-ht-2-toxins-in-bakery-products\">Adjustments for T-2 and HT-2 Toxins in Bakery Products<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The content requirement for oat milling in bakery products with high oat content has been lowered to better set maximum levels for T-2 and HT-2 toxins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-hydrocyanic-acid-content-in-linseed\">Hydrocyanic Acid Content in Linseed<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been clarified that linseed\u2019s maximum hydrocyanic acid content applies independently of the seed processing phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-rewording-of-product-titles\">Rewording of Product Titles<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Certain products\u2019 titles concerning the setting of maximum levels for ochratoxin A, zearalenone, deoxynivalenol, fumonisins, hydrocyanic acid, dioxins, and PCBs have been reworded for clarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-exemption-definitions-for-rice-based-products\">Exemption Definitions for Rice-Based Products<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Specific rice-based products exempt from certain provisions have been clearly defined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-distinction-between-powder-and-liquid-form-products\">Distinction Between Powder and Liquid Form Products<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A distinction has been made between products marketed to infants and young children in powder form and those in liquid form regarding maximum PAH levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-dehulling-process-clarification\">Dehulling Process Clarification<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been clarified that the dehulling process is considered part of the cleaning process and not as a first transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"implementation-date\">Implementation Date<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This regulation shall apply from&nbsp;<strong>July 16, 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Regulation (EU) 2024\/1756, amending and correcting\u00a0Regulation (EU) 2023\/915\u00a0on maximum levels for specific contaminants in food, was published on June 26.
