Paris, January 22nd<\/span>, 2019 \u2013<\/strong> M\u00e9rieux NutriSciences, leader in Food Safety & Quality, becomes a minority shareholder in Crystalchain, a French blockchain solution provider to address traceability challenges in the food industry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Traceability is an increasingly complex topic for the food industry. The length of the supply chain, the globalization of raw materials sourcing, the specific regulations from one country to another as well as the growing expectations from consumers regarding their food provenance constitute a set of factors making traceability always more difficult but key for the food industry.  <\/p>\n

Crystalchain is a French company making end-to-end product tracing possible by securing data with the blockchain. The blockchain technology is one of the answers to traceability challenges on a global level, no matter the complexity of the chain.<\/p>\n

As part of this partnership, M\u00e9rieux NutriSciences acquires 14% of the shares of Crystalchain. Both companies will work together, especially sharing market and technical knowledge, in order to help customers better deal with traceability challenges. This collaboration aims to address food players\u2019 main concerns: origin of products, responsiveness in case of alerts, product authenticity, suppliers\u2019 management, among others.<\/p>\n
