General Administration of Customs notice No. 34 of 2019 on preventing the introduction of foot-and-mouth Disease in South Africa into China<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently South African officials told the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) that SAT2 type foot-and-mouth disease has occurred in (Limpopo) Limpopo province of the country and the epidemic site is located in the previously recognized non-immune-free zone of foot-and-mouth disease in China. In order to protect the safety of animal husbandry in China and prevent the spread of the epidemic situation, according to the provisions of the Customs Law of the people’s Republic of China, the Law of the people’s Republic of China on the Quarantine of inbound and outbound Animals and plants and other relevant laws The announcement is as follows\uff1a
1.The import of even-hoofed animals and their related products from South Africa directly or indirectly and to stop the issuance of the Entry and Plant Quarantine Permit for the import of even-hoofed animals and their associated products from South Africa.
2.From the date of publication of this announcement, all cloven-hoofed animals from South Africa and their related products shall be returned or destroyed. Cloven-hoofed animals from South Africa and their related products shipped before the 3.It is prohibited to send or carry cloven-hoofed animals from South Africa and their related products into the country.As soon as it is found, the treatment will be returned or destroyed
4.If a cloven-hoofed animal and its related products from South Africa are found on the means of transport such as incoming ships, aircraft and railway trains that pass through or stay in China, all of them shall be sealed and shall remain or operate in the territory of our country during the period during which the cloven-hoofed animals and their related products are found from South Africa Without the permission of the Customs the use of its waste, swill, etc. shall not be opened and used and shall be treated innocuously under the supervision of the Customs and shall not be abandoned without authorization.
5.All cloven-hoofed animals and related products from South Africa intercepted by border guards and other departments shall be destroyed and disposed of under the supervision of the Customs.
6.Any person who contravenes the above-mentioned provisions Handled by the Customs in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Customs Law of the people’s Republic of China 
7.Customs at all levels, agencies for the prevention and control of animal epidemics and animal health supervision agencies shall closely cooperate in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Law of the people’s Republic of China on the Quarantine of incoming and outbound Animals \u3001 plants and the Law of the people’s Republic of China on Animal Disease Prevention.
