Exporting food to China under the new GACC customs requirements
In January 2022, The General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) implemented new regulations for all companies that export food to the Chinese market. The new requirements apply to all countries.
China has issued two new decrees that apply to all food manufacturing, processing and storage businesses. The updates include rules for the registration of products and facilities through customs. They also set new labeling and food safety requirements with specificities by commodity.
Until last year, GACC registrations were only compulsory for manufacturers of high-risk food products. Today, registrations are required for all food products exported to China. The new import rules involve different procedures that raise challenges to the global food industry as China is the world’s 2nd largest agricultural goods importer (Austrade,2022).
The objective of this webinar is to unpack the new GACC registration and food safety requirements and explain which are the compulsory steps to enter the China food market. Our expert Terry Liao, Food Labeling & Regulatory Manager at Mérieux NutriSciences China, will provide practical instructions on how to comply with the new rules during a 1-hour webinar.
