Resana, July 3rd, 2019 – Mérieux NutriSciences, one of the global leaders in food safety and leader in environment testing in Italy, announces today the acquisition of the Italian company EcamRicert. 

Founded in 1984, EcamRicert is a laboratory based in Monte di Malo in the province of Vicenza, Italy. Initially specialized in the monitoring of drinkable and mineral waters, the lab gradually developed its service offering to support the environment, food, pharma and cosmetic industries. Today, equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and technologies, the company provides a large panel of testing and consulting services on the environment, food supplements and nanotechnologies. 

This acquisition also strengthens Mérieux NutriSciences leading position in the environment sector for Italy. The company already has 7 laboratories operating in this area.  

Moreover, in a context where nanotechnology is an area of emerging interest opening up promising opportunities for several businesses, this buyout is highly valuable and complements the group’s capabilities in nanotechnologies applied to different industrial sectors, including environment, food, pharma and cosmetics.

Mérieux NutriSciences has acquired 85% of the shares of EcamRicert. The company has 58 employees and generated sales in excess of 5 million euros with more than 20% growth in 2018.
