Announcement of the General Administration of Market Supervision on the issuance of “determination of Metformin and other Non-food Chemical substances in Food” and other four supplementary methods for food inspection (4 of 2019)

In accordance with the relevant requirements of the provisions on the work of the Food supplementary inspection methods Determination of Metformin and other Non-food Chemicals in Food, determination of Semicarbazide in wheat flour and its products、determination of Anionic fluorescent brightener of stilbene in Food、various Animal derived components in food .The State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration has approved more than 4 food supplementary inspection methods for real-time fluorescent PCR. It is hereby issued.

Notice of the General Administration of Customs No.29 of 2019 (on matters relating to the determination and release of food products entering the Comprehensive bonded area from abroad)

In order to implement the “”opinions of the State Council on promoting the High level opening and High quality development of comprehensive bonded areas”” (Guofa (2019) No.3) Food entering the comprehensive bonded zone shall be subject to the supervision of “”sampling and release immediately””. The relevant matters are hereby announced as follows:
Firstly If food imported in the comprehensive bonded area needs to enter the territory, it may be assessed in conformity with the comprehensive bonded area and released in batches; where laboratory tests are required the samples may be released on the basis of the following conditions:
(1) the importer promises to import food in accordance with national food safety standard and related determination requirements (including packaging requirements and storage requirements,transportation temperature requirements, etc.)
(2) importers have established and strictly enforced a sound system of food import records and sales records.
Secondly if the safety and health items are found to be unqualified by laboratory tests, the importer shall take the initiative recall measures in accordance with the provisions of the Food Safety Law and bear the corresponding legal liability

Overall qualification rate of sampling inspection of agricultural products is 97.5% in 2018

In 2018 the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development conducted four national agricultural product quality and safety routine monitoring (risk monitoring) The scope of monitoring has been further expanded emphasis has been placed on increasing the monitoring indicators that affect the quality and safety of agricultural products, such as pesticides and veterinary antibiotics.The monitoring parameters increased from 94 items in 2017 to 122 items in 2018.
