Currently, the most widely used material in the packaging industry is plastics thanks to its advantages: it is resistant and light, offers good thermal and electrical insulation, it deteriorates very slowly and resists to acid and basic chemical agents and its production cost is definitely cheap if compared to other materials such as glass or metal.
